Alternative Easy Little Rock Band
“ Miss flower ”… due parole da dove iniziare. Era l’estate del 2008 quando una canzone scritta a tutto cuore da AnDy, con una chitarra classica ed un glockenspiel, finì dentro ad un cassetto pieno di scartoffie scarabocchiate di disegni e pensieri vari… ( in realtà nel cassetto c’erano già anche 2 o 3 buone canzoni ). Comunque i tempi non erano maturi per far prendere aria a quelle idee e i progetti erano altri.
AnDy suonava il basso nei gloriosi RoulotteHiFi, Andrea cantava negli Starbucks, Cesare suonava la chitarra negli Evergreen e Ringo (Lodovico) faceva il profeta investendo in Telecaster e Vox amplifier …
Da un’estate all’altra, esattamente quella del 2011, ed AnDy, decide di iscriversi (da solista) al contest “ Espressione giovani ” della città di Arzignano con “ Miss flower ” appunto. Le aspettative e le pretese non c’erano proprio e nemmeno una band all’orizzonte, tanto che, al passaggio delle selezioni, l’idea era quella di rispondere “ ciao, grazie, è stato bello partecipare …”
Invece alla fine l’occasione è stata colta, si è formata una band solo per l’evento e si è anche “ trionfato ” !
La band prese il nome di “ GoodbyeVisa ” in onore di un bel periodo post-adolescenziale, quando si scorrazzava a bordo di una Citroen Visa bianca, di un caro amico musicista, per ascoltare il rock and roll.
A quel punto non si poteva rimettere tutto nel cassetto e la band comincia a lavorare sul repertorio con alcune cover, ma soprattutto a pezzi originali per i primi veri live.
Passa un anno e arriva l’idea di registrare qualcosa in studio da poter dare in giro ai vari locali, una sorta di demo e niente più, da realizzare in 2 giorni, ma i 2 giorni diventatano 2 mesi e una semplice registrazione fugace diventa “ the disketto ”, un mini Lp con 3 canzoni originali e la cover “ cochon ” dei Menlo Park, il tutto registrato all’Altramusica Ohm recording studio con il prezioso lavoro di Luca Pellizzaro.
Il 30 novembre del 2012 la presentazione ufficiale è un successo e la piccola onda d’urto consente ai 4 vicentini di suonare svariati concerti e di dare vita ad altre piccole iniziative come il “ the caminetto live ”, cinque canzoni live suonate in acustico intorno ad un bellissimo caminetto acceso, il tutto ripreso e pubblicato su Youtube.
Un’altra bella avventura i 4 la mettono in piedi tra la primavera e l’estate del 2013 con il singolo “ Feather ” accompagnato da un videoclip girato da Michele Piazza.
La cornice è la bellissima Malcesine sul Lago di Garda, che con l’affascinante centro storico e la funivia che porta al Monte Baldo, donano un tocco particolare a tutte le riprese.
Con la stessa “ Feather ” i GoodbyeVisa hanno partecipato al contest “ una canzone in cui credere ” ricevendo una menzione speciale da Edoardo Bennato che ha esclamato “ it’s only rock and roll but I like it ”…
Altre belle partecipazioni come il BalconyTV di Schio, l’Arezzo Wave Veneto, il contest “ senzaspine ” al Fishmarket di Padova, hanno contribuito ad aumentare la matassa della gavetta e a far crescere sempre più la voglia di registrare un full-lengh tutto targato GoodbyeVisa.
Siamo allora alla storia recente della band che nel settembre del 2014 decide di “ chiudersi ”, per un anno circa, nel “ flat ” salaprove per lavorare ai pezzi nuovi e semi-vecchi da includere nell’album.
Dopo serate passate tra arrangiamenti, suoni nuovi, diverse versioni delle stesse canzoni, crisi esistenziali, degustazioni di birre artigianali ed ascolti di vinili sopraffini, tra settembre e novembre 2015 prende forma l’album “ goodbyevisa ” all’Outside inside studio di Matt Bordin.
Recenti sono le apparizioni sulla gondola di Indiemood con “No title” e Sofar Verona con “Forget the pillow” e dei live a Suoni di Marca in apertura ai Gipsy King e al Summerland Music Festival in apertura a Tom Freund.
Da pochi mesi è uscito l’ultimo video clip di Miss Flower: uno stop motion dell’artista Beatrice Xompero, da vedere!

“Miss Flower”. A couple of words from where to begin.
It was the summer of 2008 when a song all-heart written by AnDy, with a classic guitar and a glockenspiel, ended up in drawer full of papers scrawled with various drawings and thoughts. In fact, in the drawer there were already 2 or 3 good songs. Anyway, times were not ripe to let free those ideas and projects were other. Andy was playing the bass in the glorious RoulotteHiFi, Andrea sang with the Starbucks, Cesare was the guitarist of Evergreen and Ringo (Lodovico) did the prophet investing in Telecasters and Vox amplifiers.
From a summer to another, exactly the 2011’s, when AnDy decides to enroll (as a soloist) at the “Espressione Giovani” contest in Arzignano City, with “Miss Flower” indeed. There were neither expectations and claims or a band in sight, so that in case of success at selections the idea was to answer: “Bye, thanks. It was nice to partecipate…”. Despite this, the chance was taken, a band was born for the occasion and at the end, it was even a triumph!
The band took the name “GoodbyeVisa” in honor of a nice post-adolescence time, when we ran around on board of a dear musician friend’s white Citroen Visa, to listen rock ’n’ roll.
At that point it wasn’t possible to put everything back in the drawer and the band started to work on a repertoire with some cover, but mostly with original records for the first real live shows. A year passes and an idea of record some material in studio came along, so to have something to give away in the need, a kind of demo, nothing more, to be done in a couple of days. Two days became two months and a simple, fleeting recording became “The Disketto”, an EP with 3 original scores and a cover of the song “Cochon” by Menlo Park. All recorded at the “Altramusica Ohm Recording Studio” with the precious work of Luca Pellizzaro. On November 30th, 2012 the official presentation is a success and the tiny shock wave let the 4 from Vicenza to play several concerts and to create small initiatives like “The Caminetto Live”: 5 songs played live, unplugged, in front of a mesmerizing fireplace, video recorded and published on YouTube.
Another adventure took place between the spring and summer of 2013 with the single “Feather” together with a videoclip directed by Michele Piazza. The frame is the beautiful Malcesine, at the Garda Lake, that with the fascinating historical center and the cableway to the Baldo Mountain, gave a special look at all the shootings. With the very same “Feather”, GoodbyeVisa participated at the “Una canzone in cui credere” contest, receiving a special mention by the famous italian songwriter Edoardo Bennato who exclaimed: “it’s only rock and roll, but I like it”.
Other nice appearances such as “BalconyTV Schio”, “Arezzo Wave Veneto” and “Senzaspine” contest at the Fishmarket in Padua, brought experience and helped to increase the willing to record a full-length album, GoodbyeVisa branded!
